I had the opprotunity to work in the laboratory of Professor Jinwoo Cheon. My research projects involved the study an antioxidant protein found in many organisms. This same protein has been implicated in about 2% of all Amyotrohic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehring´s disease cases. I had read a journal article study a protein linked to Alzheimer´s disease. I was interasted in this new technique as a way to understand better the protein I studying. As a biochemist, my background in inorganic synthesis and MRI was minial before the collaboration. Professor Cheon´s group was instrumental in heling me learn about nanoparticle synthesis and MRI technigues as well as making the collabotaton a success. They also taught me about Korean culture and introduce me to experiences than i would have never had the opportunity to encounter otherwise. They made my time at Yonsei a truly wonderful, exciting, and interllectually stimulating three and half months. I am very thankful to have had the opprotunity to collaborate wiht Professor Cheon and his group at Yonsei.
